Protecting Your Farm

If you’re a farmer, your land and assets are your lifeblood.  Nobody likes to think about the worst-case scenario, but misfortune can strike at any time.  Luckily, there are steps you can take to make sure you’re covered.

Have you thought about:

  • Insuring your physical assets against physical loss or damage, including weather-related damage and natural disaster events.
  • Insuring yourself against losses due to milk contamination or deterioration.
  • Make sure your vehicles are covered for use during your farming operations as well as on the road (if applicable).
  • You may be legally required to pay compensation for damage to property, violation of Government Acts or personal injury which occurs during the course of your farming operations.  Make sure you’re protected!
  • If you’re unable to work on the farm, you’re unable to earn.  Protect your life and income.
  • Not a farmer, but living on a large section in a rural location?  Depending on their circumstances, lifestyle block owners may also require rural insurance.  Make sure your cover is appropriate for your situation.

You may be a farm owner; a farm manager; a share-milker or a farm worker.  All aspects of the farming lifestyle require protection.
