I have been involved in the insurance industry since 1983. Over this time I have built up long-term friendships with many clients. I enjoy being able to assist in planning the security of aspects of people’s lives and to be there to help when things go wrong. We are now dealing with the next generation of our original clients and it is very satisfying to have that relationship of trust. My philosophy has always been to treat others with respect and provide the best possible service and advice so we can maintain a long-term relationship. That way we all benefit. Our aim is to be the one contact for all of our clients’ insurance needs, making it easier for them to get on with their lives knowing that things are taken care of. ‘Thinking of insurance? Think of us.’ I intend to continue developing this business into the future and having a like-minded team around me to carry on the caring.

I started working as a Broker in 2010 and prior to insurance I worked in banking for 15 years. Helping clients with their insurances is something I am very passionate about.  I love the fact that I can assist with all insurance requirements from home and contents, to business needs and also protection for things like life and income covers. Working with the team at The Advisers gives me the ability to personalise my client’s requirements from our first meeting, to then continue ensuring their insurance is specific to their needs in the future. I know the importance of work/life balance and the importance of protecting what is most dear to us. Often it’s the little things that get pushed aside in life.  Sometimes we need to stop and take a moment to enjoy these things and spend a little time ensuring they are protected against the unforeseen. Initially I worked in banking in various places throughout the North Island, progressing to the insurance industry in 1999. Working with The Advisers sees me looking after people throughout the country but primarily in Central Taranaki. I’m in the business of helping my customers achieve their financial goals by offering advice that takes into account their individual situation. I like to help my customers make decisions that are the right choices for them. I am married and have two adult children. I am involved in local community organisations, namely Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust, Eltham Lions and South Taranaki Underwater Club.

I am a Commercial and Risk Management Specialist. When working with clients my goal is to understand and protect their business’s, assets and livelihood should an unfortunate situation arise. After spending 13 years working in the Commercial Accounting and Corporate Insurance space dealing with local and national clients alike I have a wide range of experience to ensure that you are well looked after. I know what truly drives clients to deal with a broker. They want a Broker who protects their livelihood, understands the policy that they are buying and creates a plan to give you peace of mind. Brokering is about trust, advice and communicating this to the heart beating people you are trying to help. I have been awarded industry accolades and I am Senior ANZIIF Associate (the leading qualification for a professional and educated Insurance Broker). Trust that you are getting the right advice and trust that what matters to you matters to us.

Since I joined the team at The Advisers I have learnt so much about the Insurance industry and our clients, this enhances the level of service I am able to provide. Although we all multi task here and do a bit of everything, my focus is set on claims. Making sure they run as smooth as possible, are completed in a timely manner and with minimal disruption to our clients. I am lucky enough to work with an amazing team, who are passionate about what they do, don’t take life too seriously and can have a good laugh, all while providing a great service to our clients.

My background has been providing business support services. I spent 12 years working as an Office Facilities Manager for a UK National Museum. In 2003 I moved to the South West of England when my husband and I purchased two retail businesses. This gave me great insight into the complexities of operating your own business. With the recession hitting the UK I closed my businesses and made the move with my family to New Zealand. Having never been to New Zealand before it was a major challenge to integrate and adapt to the Kiwi style of living. With my role at The Advisers as client support I have been able to use my many years of experience to enhance the service we provide to our clients.

I have worked with the team at The Advisers in a business support role since 2010. A big part of my role is understanding our clients insurance needs and providing the right solutions to meet that need.  Ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service and assistance is my number one priority. This means I work with a lot of different insurers in getting quotes for our clients to provide the best possible insurance product for them. Building long standing relationships and getting to know our clients is what I love about my role with The Advisers and it is this, and  providing honest and expert advice that sets us apart in the Insurance industry. It is fantastic working with a team of people who are passionate about what we do and who’s number one priority is always our clients.

Most of my working life has been focussed on customer service, which is something that I am passionate about. I have loved my role with The Advisers since I joined the team in 2008. My main responsibility is to ensure the smooth running of the office, co-ordinating the workflow and dealing with any issues which arise, but I also still enjoy chatting with clients and helping them to make sure their insurance is providing the cover that they need.  I enjoy nothing more than a challenge, and love problem solving for our clients; thinking outside the square to achieve the right solution for their situation. I have successfully completed some further education to give me a better understanding of the principles of insurance and have now achieved a Level 4 Certificate in General Insurance and a Diploma of General Insurance, which means that I am a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. I am looking forward to completing further study.

I’m usually the first point of contact on the telephone, I enjoy talking to and getting to know our customers. I get satisfaction from assisting customers with their needs, and connecting them with our advisers and senior management when they need specialist knowledge and help. My background has been in administration, customer service, recruitment and health & safety within a wide range of industries.  The common theme throughout my working life has been liaising with people with the aim of reaching the best possible outcomes – and that is what motivates me. Our team are passionate about what they do and really go the extra mile – so I make sure the kitchen has a steady supply of chocolate biscuits to keep their energy levels up. I enjoy the insurance industry and assisting where I can.
